Germany striker Mario Gomez has been named as the bookmakers' favourite to take home the Euro 2012 Golden Boot.

The Bayern Munich striker bagged a brace during his country's 2-1 win over the Netherlands this evening.

In the wake of the result, William Hill slashed the odds of him finishing top goalscorer to 5/4.

The Ukraine's Andriy Shevchenko had his odds cut to 16/1 after scoring second-half double in Monday's 2-1 victory over Sweden.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who put his side 1-0 up in the match, has also been cut to 25/1 despite Sweden's status as outsiders to qualify for the next phase.

Other tips include Russia's Alan Dzagoev at 6/1, France's Karim Benzema at 16/1, and Croatian duo Mario Mandzukic and Nikica Jelavic both at 20/1.
