Half-Time Report: Fleetwood Town maintain first-leg lead over York City in L2 playoff semi-final

York have the better of a goalless first half in their League Two playoff semi-final second leg against Fleetwood, who maintain their one-goal aggregate advantage.

Fleetwood Town's aggregate advantage over York City remains intact after 45 minutes of their League Two playoff semi-final second leg at Highbury tonight.

The Cod Army held a 1-0 lead prior to kickoff having narrowly beaten York in their away leg on Monday courtesy of a Matty Blair goal against his former club.

Blair and his Fleetwood teammates were mostly forced to play on the break during the first half in Lancashire, as the visitors used their physical advantage to force Graham Alexander's side backwards.

Having taken 66 minutes to register a shot on target at Bootham Crescent, City soon called Chris Maxwell into action, with the Fleetwood keeper saving well from Michael Coulson's 15th-minute strike.

Iain Hume had, moments earlier, had a good chance to put Fleetwood further ahead in the tie, but he lifted the ball over the crossbar from 15 yards after Josh Morris had picked him out from the left.

York did most of the forward pressing, though, with striker Calvin Andrew, recalled in the absence of injured top scorer Wes Fletcher, who has netted 10 times this term, going close with two headers, and midfielder Russell Penn bending a shot narrowly over after Fleetwood failed to clear a corner.
