Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has said that he is "very proud" to have signed striker Giuseppe Rossi.
The 25-year-old Italy international joined the Italian club from Spanish side Villarreal.
"Signing Rossi was a real coup," Montella told reporters. "This is a talent we hope to recover for the end of the season and we will wait until he has completed his rehabilitation.
"This is a sign that the club is operating well on the transfer market and knows how to convince the players by giving them motivation and ambitious targets.
"Rossi had the choice between several different clubs, but he chose Fiorentina and that makes me very proud."
Rossi is currently recovering from a knee ligament injury and will not be fully fit until March.
