Joaquin rules out Fiorentina exit

Joaquin insists that he will not leave Fiorentina to return to La Liga in the summer.

Fiorentina winger Joaquin has insisted that he has no intention of leaving the club to return to La Liga in the summer.

The 33-year-old is a key player in Vincenzo Montella's side, and with one year still remaining on his contract, he claims that his immediate future lies with the Viola as they continue their bid for Champions League qualification.

"Will I return to Spain? I have a contract for another season with Fiorentina have no reason to leave," Joaquin told reporters. "It is a marvellous city and my family is very happy here. We want to qualify for the Champions League.

"It'll be a fight to the end with Roma, Lazio, Napoli and Sampdoria, but we really believe in our chances."

Fiorentina are currently sixth in Serie A, six points behind third-placed Lazio in the battle for a place in the Champions League.
