Report: Everton want Landon Donovan for third time

Reports suggest that Landon Donovan will sign for Everton for a third time in January.

Everton are close to signing Los Angeles Galaxy striker Landon Donovan on loan, according to a report.

The Toffees are reportedly in talks with his club and will seal a short-term deal in January which will see Donovan join the club for a third time.

The USA international played at Goodison Park under the management of David Moyes in 2010 and 2012.

Donovan is now keen on returning to Merseyside in order to maintain his form and fitness ahead of next year's World Cup, reports in The Mirror suggest.

In August, he signed a new multi-year deal with the Galaxy.
