Preview: Everton vs. Hull City

Sports Mole looks ahead to the Premier League meeting between Everton and Hull City.

Hull City head into a hectic December schedule knowing that they must return to form quickly to avoid being dragged into a lengthy relegation battle.

At the start of the season, very few would have predicted Hull to be in trouble, and Steve Bruce's side will still be expected to steer clear of the bottom three sooner rather than later.

However, Bruce will be under no illusions about his side's current position after losing their last four games, and being without a win since the first weekend of October.

One goal in five matches will be the big concern for Hull, and there could be changes made in midfield and attack for the meeting with Everton on Wednesday evening.

Everton head into the game on the back of their own setback after seeing an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions come to an end in the loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

Roberto Martinez will be keen to see his players produce a response, despite electing to remain positive following the defeat in North London.

James McCarthy is unlikely to be ready to return from a hamstring injury, while the Toffees are still sweating over the fitness of Steven Naismith, who missed the loss to Everton.

Those injuries could mean that Ross Barkley will shift into a central position to make room for Aiden McGeady on the wing.

Sports Mole says: 3-1
