Roberto Martinez hails "complete team performance" from Everton

Everton manager Roberto Martinez hails a "complete team performance" after their 3-0 win over Southampton.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has hailed a "complete team performance" after watching his side beat Southampton 3-0 on Saturday.

Ross Barkley added a third to two first-half goals from Romelu Lukaku, and Martinez was delighted with his side's performance on the South Coast.

The manager told BT Sport: "It wasn't about the points, it was about the performance, I think individually, we were so generous with our effort and made it a very complete team performance.

"Every time we have come to Southampton, we have found it really difficult, but we had everything today. We had real flair, we kept the ball really well. We defended cleverly and keeping the clean sheet was a perfect example of how well we played.

"We started well and we were well in control. We were looking for a good start and it was a real turning point for us in the first half. From the first second we had a real meaning and the players with the talent could have an impact."

The Toffees entertain Manchester City next week.
