Roberto Martinez: 'Everton deserved the win'

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that his side deserved their late 2-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that his side deserved their 2-1 win over Cardiff City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The match at Goodison Park looked to be heading for a draw before Seamus Coleman found the net deep in injury time.

"You can say you get a bit lucky when you score the winner so, so late, but it was down to having that control and patience," the Spaniard told BBC Sport.

"I did think we deserved the three points but I thought Cardiff deserved huge, huge credit."

Everton continue their Premier League campaign next Saturday at home to Swansea City.
