Roberto Martinez: 'We would embrace Europa League chance'

Everton manager Roberto Martinez insists that his side would "embrace" the Europa League should they qualify through the Fair Play league.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that he would use some of the club's younger players should they earn a place in the Europa League.

The Toffees are in the running to qualify through the Fair Play route and, although their Premier League displays suffered as a result of their run to the last 16 this season, Martinez has insisted that the club would "embrace" another appearance in the competition.

The 41-year-old told BBC Sport: "If we finish top and are rewarded with European qualification, then we will embrace it.

"We would look at it as a great opportunity for the football club to use the early rounds to blood some of our youngsters and show what we can do.

"The early rounds are in the middle of the preparation that we need to get right in order to start the season well."

Everton moved into 10th place in the Premier League table on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 win away at West Ham United.
