Espanyol want to sign on-loan forward Jhon Cordoba on a permanent deal.

Espanyol sporting director Oscar Perarnau has revealed that the Spanish outfit want to sign Jhon Cordoba on a permanent transfer.

Cordoba, 20, is currently on loan in Spain from Mexican side Queretaro, but Espanyol reportedly have the opportunity to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

"We are trying to reach an agreement for Cordoba to stay on. He's become an explosive player for us, different and has played at a very high level," Perearnau told reporters.

Cordoba, who has 17 Colombia Under-20 caps to his name, has scored twice in La Liga this season.
