Steven Gerrard: 'England fans will drown out Polish supporters'

England captain Steven Gerrard has "no doubt" that the home fans will make more noise than the Polish fans at Wembley tomorrow, despite the visitors being allocated 18,000 tickets.

England captain Steven Gerrard has played down the effect that the increased number of tickets issued to Poland fans will have on tomorrow's match between the two sides.

The FA allocated Poland 18,000 tickets for the crucial World Cup qualifying match, which England must win in order to guarantee their place in the next summer's tournament.

The decision has been criticised by some over fears that it could give the visitors a lift, but Gerrard has no doubt that the home fans will make a lot more noise than their Polish counterparts.

"Players want to play in good atmospheres, they want to play in full houses. And I have no doubt that the England fans will make an awful lot more noise than the Poland fans," Gerrard is quoted as saying by PA.

Gerrard will make his 107th appearance for his country if he plays tomorrow, taking him past Sir Bobby Charlton as the fourth most capped England player in history.
