Connor Wickham has praised the six players who made their bows for England's Under-21s against Northern Ireland this evening.
England ran out 2-0 winners, with Wickham scoring the first and debutant Benik Afobe netting the second from the spot.
Nick Powell, Harry Maguire, Nathaniel Chalobah, Will Hughes and Liam Moore also made their Under-21 debuts at Bloomfield Road.
"The new boys fitted right in and we went out and did the job we were supposed to do," said Sunderland's Wickham.
"It was a team effort and we all played our part."
The win made it six successive triumphs for the first time in 21 years for the Under-21s.
