Gareth Southgate will reportedly be interviewed for the England manager's job on Monday following an unbeaten four-game interim spell in charge of the team.

Gareth Southgate will be interviewed for the England manager's job on Monday, according to reports.

The 46-year-old has been in interim charge of the national team since Sam Allardyce's short reign came to an end in September, overseeing matches against Malta, Slovenia, Scotland and Spain.

Southgate passed through his temporary spell unbeaten, winning two and drawing two, although his final match in charge did see England surrender a two-goal lead in the dying stages against Spain.

However, the former Under-21s boss remains the overwhelming favourite to land the job on a permanent basis, and he is now set to have a formal interview for the post on Monday.

FA chief executive Martin Glenn recently confirmed that they were open to interviewing other candidates too, but stressed that Southgate is interested in the role.

Southgate has called for a decision to be made quickly in order to prepare for either England's internationals in March or the U21 European Championships, the draw for which takes place next month.
