Harry Kane rues England's lack of clinical edge in Spain loss

England striker Harry Kane admits that he and his teammates were not good enough in the final third in their 2-0 defeat to Spain in Alicante.

England striker Harry Kane has rued his side's lack of clinical edge in the final third in their 2-0 defeat to Spain in Alicante.

Goals in the second half from Mario Gaspar and Santi Cazorla were enough to secure the victory for Vincente del Bosque's men in the friendly clash.

Kane and his teammates were left to bemoan their missed opportunities in and around the box as they slipped to defeat.

"We had chances where, if we'd have been a bit more clinical in the final third, things would have been different," he told the FA's official website.

"They played good possession football but we were well-organised and we caught them on the counter-attack.

"It was just that our final ball or our final shot could have been better today."

England's friendly against France will go ahead on Tuesday at Wembley despite the terror attacks in Paris.
