Roy Hodgson says that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain changed the game for England against Brazil on Sunday.

England manager Roy Hodgson has insisted that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was the difference maker during their draw with Brazil on Sunday night.

Goals from the Arsenal man and Wayne Rooney had put the Three Lions ahead after coming from behind, before a late Paulinho effort ensured that the game ended 2-2 at the Maracana.

Hodgson altered his tactics when bringing on the 19-year-old, and he admits that Oxlade-Chamberlain changed the match.

"He was very lively. Phil Jones was doing an excellent job but is really more of a defender playing in midfield," said Hodgson.

"Alex gets on the ball and gets turned around, he added another dimension and got his reward by scoring a very good goal."

Hodgson also felt that it was a "fair result" in Brazil.
