Nathaniel Clyne determined to seize England chance

Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne is hopeful that he can seize his chance to become a permanent fixture in the England team after receiving his second call-up to the squad.

Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne has admitted that he is determined to take his chance to become a first-team regular for England.

The 23-year-old has secured a call-up to the Three Lions squad for the second time in his career, and is expected to earn his first cap in the Euro 2016 clash against Slovenia.

Clyne has revealed that he is delighted his form for the Saints has been recognised and has credited boss Ronald Koeman for his team's fine start to the season.

He told reporters: "My club are doing ever so well, which means everyone's looking at us. I've been playing pretty well too, which means I've been given a chance to play for my country.

"We've got a great team spirit and togetherness. The manager has done really well to bring good players in and knit us all together. We're playing good football and, hopefully, it will continue.

"I've been given my chance now and I am going to make it count. I am ready for any game, really. If it is against Slovenia or Scotland, I will prepare myself and get myself ready for the game."

England face against Slovenia in their match at Wembley later today.
