Luis Enrique disappointed with Elche defeat

Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique reveals his disappointment following Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Elche.

Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique has admitted his disappointment following Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Elche in La Liga.

Celta remain in 11th position in the table following a strong run of form, but they are just four points from 17th-place Almeria with 12 matches remaining.

"I don't think that anyone in the stadium was expecting this result. In this sport though, the teams that score goals are rewarded. It was the only chance they had in the second half. They were more effective than we were," he told reporters.

"In the first half it was more difficult for us, but it was more even. In the second half though, we had more chances. It's a very bad result for us, because a direct rival has taken points and we haven't."

Elche, meanwhile, have moved into 12th, just one point behind Celta.
