Egypt secure qualification for the Olympic quarter-finals with a 3-0 win over Belarus, who are subsequently eliminated from the competition.

A treble of second-half goals have secured Egypt qualification for the Olympic quarter-finals at the expense of opponents Belarus.

Only victory would have been enough for Egypt to advance into the last eight but they entered the break level after wasting several good chances.

Mohamed Salah twice shot wide from good positions while Meteab Emad forced a fine save from Aleksandr Gutor.

However, three goals in the second period gave the African nation a convincing win, with Salah atoning for his earlier misses by netting the first on 55 minutes.

Substitute Marwan Mohsen then doubled Egypt's advantage on 73 minutes before the result was wrapped up courtesy of a strike from Mohamed Aboutrika.

Despite a late consolation from Andrei Voronkov, Belarus exit the competition, with Egypt qualifying as Group C runners-up behind Brazil, who topped the pool with maximum points.
