Doncaster Rovers will offer Billy Sharp a new deal in an attempt to persuade him to stay at the club amid an imminent move to Leicester City.

Doncaster Rovers will attempt to keep star striker Billy Sharp at the club despite interest from Leicester City.

The club reluctantly accepted a bid from the Foxes for Sharp's services over the weekend, but are planning to offer him a new deal to try to persuade him to stay at the Keepmoat Stadium.

It is understood that Doncaster major shareholder Dick Watson has put up the money to offer Sharp a lucrative new contract in an effort to hold on to the 25-year-old.

Sharp has scored ten goals in the Championship for Donny this season.
