Mark O'Brien is expected to join Motherwell on loan from Derby County later this week, a report claims.

Derby County defender Mark O'Brien is reportedly close to joining Scottish Premiership side Motherwell on loan.

The 21-year-old, who has made 35 appearances for the Rams despite suffering two serious injuries, will make the move to Fir Park later this week, according to the Daily Mail.

Motherwell are currently without injured duo Steven Hammell and Simon Ramsdel, while Adam Cummins has also suffered a minor strain and will miss Wednesday night's trip to face Dundee United.

The Steelmen kicked off their league campaign with a 1-0 victory against St Mirren on Saturday.
