Steve McClaren: 'Derby County want to keep Tom Ince'

Steve McClaren reveals that he wants Tom Ince to stay at Derby County next season after he scored twice in their 4-4 Championship draw against Huddersfield Town.

Steve McClaren has revealed that he wants to keep Tom Ince at Derby County next season.

The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals in 16 games since joining Derby on loan from Hull City on transfer deadline day, including two in their 4-4 Championship draw against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

"If we hadn't got Tom Ince and others in January we wouldn't be in the top six. He has scored goals and created them and he is my type of player," McClaren told Sky Sports News.

"I think he's been good for us and we've been good for him. I haven't spoken to Steve Bruce but we would like to keep him."

Derby lie fifth in the Championship table, four points clear of seventh-placed Brentford.
