Ten-man Deportivo La Coruna draw 0-0 with Rayo Vallecano at home in La Liga.

Deportivo La Coruna and Rayo Vallecano have played out a goalless draw with each other at the Riazor in La Liga.

The home side had the first chance of the game and it fell to Pizzi as early as the eighth minute. However, Ruben kept out his angled shot from close range.

Two minutes later Riki headed Pizzi's cross just wide from the centre of the Rayo penalty box, before Lass and Jose Casado threatened to put the visitors ahead.

Rayo's Roberto Trashorras's attempt from outside the box on 17 minutes failed to put Daniel Aranzubia under any pressure, and Lass was unlucky to see his effort come off the post just minutes later.

The two sides continued to exchange chances for the remainder of the first half and the start of the second period saw the pattern retained.

Juan Carlos Valeron was denied by Ruben just before the hour mark and moments later Abel Aguilar headed high, before Piti shot wide from outside the Depor box.

Carlos Marchena headed just wide from Pizzi's delivery, Diogo Salomao squandered his chance and Nelson Oliveira drew out a smart save from Ruben in the pick of the opportunities during the rest of the second half.

Depor finished the contest with 10 men after Marchena was shown his second yellow card four minutes from time.
