Yannick Bolasie puts form down to Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew

Crystal Palace forward Yannick Bolasie claims that his improved goalscoring form is down to manager Alan Pardew.

Crystal Palace forward Yannick Bolasie has stated that his improvement in front of goal this season is thanks to manager Alan Pardew.

The 26-year-old took his tally for the season to four in 13 Premier League games on Saturday as he netted a brace in the 5-1 win over Newcastle United.

Bolasie has claimed that Pardew's work on the training ground is paying off for him and his teammates.

"I don't have a total (in mind), but I think the improvements you see - four goals last season and four goals already this season," Bolasie told Sky Sports News.

"You don't just build a player overnight, everything has to come gradually. I don't think people really expect it. I wasn't really in the box last season but this season I am in the box a lot more, I am picking up little scraps and so far I have got goals off scraps.

"I think it's all down to the gaffer and what he does in training and you can see it in the boys."

Palace sit seventh in the table after 14 games.
