Joel Ward wants clinical Crystal Palace

Joel Ward calls on his Crystal Palace teammates to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward has called on the team to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Eagles are currently at the bottom of the table with just three points from their opening 10 matches of the campaign.

Despite Palace's tough predicament, Ward is hopeful that they can start putting together a run of positive results sooner rather than later.

"It's all in those small moments and we know that missed chances you could get away last season, you can't get away with this year in this division," he told the club's official website.

"You need those chances to go in, you need to be more clinical and hopefully we can put that right."

Palace are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they welcome Everton to Selhurst Park.
