Crewe Alexandra have confirmed the signing of Swansea City defender Alan Tate on an emergency 93-day loan.

The 32-year-old has made over 300 appearances for the Welsh club, but he has struggled for first-team action in recent times.

Tate spent last season on loan with Yeovil Town and Aberdeen respectively.

The experienced Englishman could make his debut for Crewe on Saturday when they host Colchester United in League One.
