Chesterfield, Preston North End charged by Football Association

The Football Association charges Chesterfield and Preston for failing to control their players.

The Football Association has charged Chesterfield and Preston North End for failing to control their players during last week's League One playoff first leg.

Both teams were involved in a scuffle midway through the first half at the Proact Stadium on May 7.

Meanwhile, Preston assistant Glynn Snodin has been charged with misconduct over his alleged behaviour in the first half.

Preston went on to win the match 1-0 before sealing their place in the playoff final with a 3-0 triumph in the second leg.

"It is alleged that in or around the 28th minute of the fixture, the clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion," read an FA statement.

"In relation to the same game, Preston assistant manager Glynn Snodin has been charged for misconduct in that it is alleged his behaviour during the first half of the match amounted to improper conduct."

All parties have until 6pm on Friday to respond to the charges.
