Report: Chelsea planning £20m Joao Miranda bid

Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda is wanted by Chelsea, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a bid for Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda.

The Brazilian international has been at the La Liga champions for the past three seasons after joining from Sao Paulo.

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea and Atletico will meet for talks next week over Miranda's transfer, with the Blues expected to offer £20m.

The report goes on to claim that Miranda has told the club that he wants to leave and sources close to the player have said that he wants to join the Blues.

It is believed that Miranda has a £24m release clause in his contract.
