Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admits that he is keen for Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham to pen new contracts at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has acknowledged that he wants Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham to pen new long-term contracts.

Having been provided with first-team opportunities by Lampard, the two academy graduates have established themselves as first choice in their respective positions.

While there is no suggestion that either of the pair is interested in leaving the Blues, Lampard admits that he is keen for fresh terms to be agreed as soon as possible.

After being quizzed on whether he wants the duo to stay in West London, the club legend told reporters: "Of course, I do. That goes slightly out of my remit when they are dealing with the club. The club know I love the players, I brought them into the team this season.

"They are doing particularly well but I leave those conversations to the club to discuss contracts but, of course, I want them to be here for a long time. That's the conversation for me and the club I suppose. I made it clear that they are playing very well and I want them to stay."

Tomori has a deal in place until the end of next season, while Abraham is tied to Chelsea until the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign.
