Cesar Azpilicueta not looking to leave Chelsea

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta plays down talk of a return to La Liga.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has played down talk of a return to La Liga amid reported interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The Spanish international has emerged into one of the best full-backs in the Premier League since moving to Chelsea from Marseille in 2012.

The defender's form has led to a host of speculation, but the former Osasuna right-back is not interested in a return to Spain.

"I don't think about it because I'm happy here. I follow La Liga but don't think of going back there," Azpilicueta is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard.

"I'm really enjoying London now. I prefer the Premier League and I'm eager to improve. I've always worked to be one of the best and it's clear that the more you achieve then the more pressure you have.

"But I can still improve a lot. Whenever I watch a game I try to look at others who play in my position because they teach me things to improve myself."

Azpilicueta has kept Filipe Luis out of the Chelsea XI this season.
