Atletico Madrid have made an ambitious loan offer for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, according to a report.
The Spain international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho, despite his impressive form at the club since his arrival in 2011.
Mata has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United but Madrid are hopeful of beating both English clubs to his signature with a season-long loan deal on the cards, reports Spanish newspaper AS.
Chelsea are in action later today in their Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
