Jose Mourinho threatens to walk out of press conference over 'headbutt' claims

Jose Mourinho claims that he is "tired of stories" surrounding his side following suggestions that Branislav Ivanovic headbutted an opponent.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho threatened to walk out of his post-match press conference last night following suggestions that Branislav Ivanovic headbutted Everton's James McCarthy.

The Blues prevailed 1-0 at Stamford Bridge courtesy of Willian's last-minute strike to maintain their seven-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table.

Tempers had flared earlier in the game when Gareth Barry tripped the match-winner to earn a second yellow card, while Ivanovic appeared to move his head towards McCarthy in the aftermath of the incident.

Serbia international Ivanovic escaped any punishment from referee Jonathan Moss, although he could face retrospective action from the Football Association.

However, Mourinho was not prepared to discuss the fracas, telling reporters: "I'm concerned with my reaction, because one more question [and] I leave. And after that you are not happy. The next question for that story I have to go.

"I'm tired of stories and I'm never tired of football. Football is emotion and what we had here today. A discussion because of a red card, a red card that should be given in the first half, because Barry should be sent off in the first half."

Asked a little earlier about what happened, the Portuguese told BT Sport: "Did Branislav Ivanovic go in with his head? Don't make me laugh. Don't make me laugh."

Mourinho was last month fined £25,000 by the FA for claiming that there was a "clear campaign" against Chelsea following their draw with Southampton.
