Brian McDermott hails Adam Le Fondre impact

Reading boss Brian McDermott hails Adam Le Fondre after the striker scores twice to rescue a point in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

Reading boss Brian McDermott has lavished praise on super sub Adam Le Fondre after he came off the bench to score twice in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

Goals from Juan Mata and Frank Lampard put the European Champions in the driving seat, but Le Fondre's late introduction turned the match on its head.

"When you've got Le Fondre anything can happen. He is a bit special. Those two finishes were from the top drawer," he told Sky Sports News

"They are the champions of Europe. These are world-class players. If you're 2-0 down to them with 10 minutes to go you feel you've got real problems.

"Once you get a goal things can change and that's what happened tonight. I was so proud of our players tonight. We have players with massive hearts. They give us everything. We're doing everything we can be to be in this league next season."

The result leaves Reading in 17th place in the Premier League, level on points with Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa below them.
