Chelsea sweat over Cesc Fabregas as Manchester City clash looms

Jose Mourinho admits that Cesc Fabregas's participation in Chelsea's upcoming clash with Man City remains up in the air following a hamstring injury.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he does not yet know if Cesc Fabregas will be fit to face Manchester City in their Premier League showdown on Saturday.

The Spaniard, who has 19 assists in all competitions this season, limped out of the Blues' League Cup semi-final win over Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Mourinho has now confirmed that Fabregas suffered a hamstring injury, but remains in the dark over the prognosis.

"Filipe [Luis] was a calf and Fabregas was a hamstring," he told reporters.

"Fabregas told me he wasn't yet injured [immediately after the impact with Terry] but that he would be in a few moments."

The Sky Blues are scheduled to visit Stamford Bridge this weekend in a game where Mourinho's side could stretch their lead over second-placed City to eight points.
