Manchester City winger Leroy Sane's record vs. Chelsea

Ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash between Manchester City and Chelsea, Sports Mole looks at how Leroy Sane has fared against the Blues in the past.

Manchester City face a huge test of their title credentials on Sunday when they welcome Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium.

The Londoners inflicted the first defeat of the season on the champions in December - the beginning of a poor run of results which saw Pep Guardiola's side slip seven points behind Liverpool at one stage.

However, they go into the weekend sitting top of the pile once again courtesy of Wednesday's win over Everton, and they will know that another victory would heap even more pressure on Liverpool's shoulders.

Leroy Sane was recalled to the side for that victory at Goodison Park and will be hopeful of retaining his place this weekend, and here Sports Mole looks at how he has fared against Chelsea in the past.

Leroy Sane has achieved plenty on these shores since arriving from Schalke 04, helping Man City to a league and EFL Cup double last season en route to winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

However, a goal or assist against Chelsea is something he is still waiting for, despite starting all six meetings with them during his time at City so far.

The Germany international was hooked after just 53 minutes of the reverse fixture in December, and only made it to half time of the Community Shield at Wembley in August.

Sane lost both of his games against Chelsea during his debut season in England, but won both last term including a 1-0 triumph at the Etihad Stadium - the only time he has played the full 90 minutes in this fixture.
