Chelsea captain John Terry reacts to his side's 2-1 aggregate victory over Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

Chelsea captain John Terry has said that he is "delighted" to be in the last-16 of the Europa League despite admitting his side were below-par against Sparta Prague this evening.

Eden Hazard netted a late equaliser to make the score 1-1 on the night and give the Blues a 2-1 victory on aggregate.

"We're delighted to go through. It wasn't our best performances but we're in the next round and we're happy with that," BBC Sport quotes Terry as saying.

"They had two counter-attacks in the last five minutes, which is not good at all. Overall, it wasn't the best but we're happy with that.

"We kept going. For the first 80 minutes nothing went for us, we had a lot of attempts on goal but the persistence of the lads was fantastic."

Terry went on to say that he and his teammates are disappointed to be out of the Champions League, but insisted they are going into their next Europa match with a positive mindset.

"We're very disappointed to be out of the Champions League but that's enough motivation for us to kick on in this competition," he added.

Chelsea will take on Ajax or Steaua Bucharest in the last 16 of the competition.
