John Terry: 'Chelsea showed great character'

Chelsea captain John Terry believes that the team showed "great character" to clinch a place in the Champions League semi-finals.

John Terry has said that Chelsea showed "great character" to book their place in the Champions League semi-finals after beating Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 at Stamford Bridge this evening.

Jose Mourinho's side were 3-1 down after the first leg, but goals from Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba tonight allow them to progress through their away goal.

The captain told ITV Sport: "We gave ourselves a chance by not conceding. We had to hit the big man and he scores.

"This competition means a lot to us. The experiences we have had keeps you fighting and believing. Winning it was the best feeling ever. These big performances are what we live for.

"Everyone doubted us tonight but we showed great character and fight to come back. It all paid off."

The draw for the semi-finals takes place on Friday.
