Leroy Lita scores on his debut for Sheffield Wednesday to help them to a 2-1 win over former side Charlton Athletic.

Sheffield Wednesday have come from a goal down at half time against Charlton Athletic to walk away from The Valley with all three points.

The visitors nearly went ahead through Anthony Gardner, who found himself unmarked at the back post from a corner. However, Cedric Evina was alert to clear off the line after Michail Antonio had also got in the way of the goal-bound effort.

Michael Morrison then saw a header come crashing off the woodwork, but again it was Wednesday who threatened to take the lead just before the break. The ball fell kindly for Reda Johnson when Ben Hamer spilled a long ball into the area, but he fired wide of the goal from 12 yards out.

Dave Jones's men were punished two minutes after the restart by Johnnie Jackson, who buried from 12 yards out to put the Addicks in front.

Leroy Lita nearly made a goal-scoring return to his former club when he came on as a second-half substitute, but he was twice denied by Hamer.

Scott Wagstaff saw a shot come back off the post as Charlton sought to put the game beyond the visitors.

The Owls were rewarded for their persistence six minutes from time when Reda Johnson powered home a header, before Lita broke Charlton hearts with just seconds left on the clock.
