Celta Vigo president: 'Players will not leave cheaply'

Celta Vigo president Carlos Mourino insists that the club's star players will be going nowhere unless their release clauses are activated.

Celta Vigo president Carlos Mourino has warned interested suitors that key players will not be allowed to leave his club this summer unless their release clauses are activated.

A strong second half to the La Liga season saw Celta finish in eighth position, just four points shy of the top seven.

The likes of Fabian Orellana and Andreu Fontas – who were both excellent during the 2014-15 campaign – have been linked with moves away, but Mourino has insisted that players will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

"We're not going to take the team apart, whoever wants our players must pay their release clause," Mourino said in an official statement.

Celta won 13 of their 38 league games last season.
