Relegation-threatened Catania dismiss manager Rolando Maran for the second time this season and announce the appointment of Maurizio Pellegrino.

Catania have dismissed manager Rolando Maran for the second time this season after falling to a fifth straight defeat this afternoon.

The Serie A strugglers were beaten 2-1 by Torino, having led until the final 11 minutes of the match.

Maurizio Pellegrino has been appointed as their new head coach and will take charge for the first time in next Sunday's league clash against AC Milan at the San Siro.

Catania are currently bottom of the Serie A table and are seven points away from safety with six games remaining.
