Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay hopes to unveil French striker Rudy Gestede as the Bluebirds’ ninth signing of the off-season.
The 22-year-old scored five goals in 32 appearances for Ligue 2 side Metz, and has also represented France at Under-19 level.
The 6ft 4in forward passed a medical on Saturday and it is reported that he will be confirmed as a Bluebird alongside Scottish striker Kenny Miller on Monday, ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Yeovil Town.
Mackay has claimed he wishes to sign 12 new players for Cardiff ahead of next season’s opener with West Ham.
