Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms that Don Cowie will leave the club after rejecting a new contract.

Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that midfielder Don Cowie will leave the club after rejecting a new contract.

The 31-year-old was offered fresh terms by the Bluebirds in May, but the midfielder has opted to move on.

"Don has been a great servant to the club and a fantastic lad to have in the dressing room," Wales Online quotes Solskjaer as saying.

"There was a contact there, but we have made signings now and Don wanted to keep his options open so all we can do now is wish him all the very best for the future."

The Scotland international, who joined Cardiff in 2011, has been linked with moves to Blackburn Rovers, Watford and Rangers.
