Adam Le Fondre goal enough for Cardiff City to win at Watford

Adam Le Fondre's 12th-minute goal is enough for Cardiff City to win 1-0 away at Watford.

Adam Le Fondre condemned Watford to a fourth straight defeat as Cardiff City won 1-0 at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

Watford started the match on the front foot but Cardiff took the lead through Le Fondre, who tapped the ball in after Kenwyne Jones nodded a high ball down perfectly.

Le Fondre missed another good opportunity before Watford piled on the pressure in their search for a equaliser.

Matej Vydra was denied by some desperate defending, while in the second half Ikechi Anya struck the side-netting when through on goal, and Gianni Munari flicked the ball against the post.

Watford continued to search for the leveller but Russell Slade's defence remained strong as the Bluebirds finally clinched their first away win of the season.
