Burnley are reportedly planning to double Nick Pope's wages and tie him down to a new long-term contract.

Burnley are reportedly planning to reward Nick Pope for his progress this season by offering him a new deal that will see the stopper double his wages.

The 25-year-old became the Clarets' new number one following the loss of Tom Heaton to a shoulder injury and has since kept 11 clean sheets, helping his side up to an impressive seventh place in the table.

According to The Sun, Burnley boss Sean Dyche has decided that Pope will remain as the club's number one and will be offered a new deal that will see his weekly wage boosted from £15,000 to £30,000, warding off potential interest from Newcastle United.

The newspaper says that Dyche will then think carefully about what to do with Heaton, with the possibility that he could be offloaded this summer.

Pope's form for Burnley has led to him earning a call-up to the England squad for friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy later this month.
