Luke Hendrie joins Burnley

Former Derby County midfielder Luke Hendrie pens a one-year deal with Championship outfit Burnley.

Burnley have completed the signing of midfielder Luke Hendrie on a one-year deal.

The 20-year-old was released by Derby County earlier this summer after spending two seasons with the Rams.

"I'm happy it's all done. It's been a strange couple of days but I'm happy to get started and hopefully I can have a good season," he told the club's official website.

"I was here last week on the bench for Bradford City while on trial so it was a bit surreal as nobody really knew.

"I got an early taste of the place and it's a really nice stadium and it's got the feel of a Premier League club."

Hendrie began his career at Manchester United and has played for England at Under-17 level.
