Burnley 'not allowed' to sign transfer target Chris Long

Burnley are unable to sign striker Chris Long due to an agreement between sporting director Frank McParland and Brentford, according to reports.

Burnley are not allowed to sign Everton striker Chris Long, according to reports.

Long has been targeted by Burnley, but an agreement between new sporting director Frank McParland and his former club Brentford looks set to scupper the deal.

McParland made an agreement that he will not sign any of Brentford's old players, and Long played 11 matches on loan at the West London club last season.

"BURNLEY. Want Chris Long from Everton. Bizarre problem. Frank McParland has agreement with Brentford not to take any of their old players!!!", The Sun reporter Alan Nixon tweeted.

Leeds United are reportedly also interested in the 20-year-old.
