George Boyd expected to join Burnley from Hull City

Steve Bruce confirms that George Boyd is expected to join Burnley from Hull City today.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has revealed that George Boyd is expected to leave the club to join Burnley before tonight's 11pm deadline.

The 28-year-old is due to sign a three-year deal at Turf Moor after a reported £3m figure was agreed upon between the two clubs.

"It looks like Boydy will go to Burnley," Sky Sports News quotes Bruce as saying. "We allowed George to speak to Burnley and personally I wish him well.

"He got an offer of a three or four year contract at Burnley and the chance to play. But I've been in the game a long time and if all professional footballers were like George Boyd my job would be easy."

Boyd joined Hull from Peterborough United last year following a loan stint at the KC Stadium.
