Danny Ings brace secures Burnley victory over Birmingham City

Danny Ings scores twice while Scott Arfield also finds the net as Burnley ease to a 3-0 win over Birmingham City in their Championship clash.

Burnley secured a 3-0 win over Birmingham City in their Championship clash at Turf Moor thanks to a brace from Danny Ings.

The home side had the perfect start to the game when they took the lead in the third minute. Sam Vokes threaded a through-ball for Danny Ings and he made no mistake slotting the ball past Darren Randolph.

Ings almost doubled his and Burnley's tally on the evening when got the ball inside the box, but this time he could only drill his effort wide of the post with Randolph beaten.

Just before the break, Ings was involved yet again when he turned provider for Vokes but the Wales international could only fire his effort wide from 12 yards out.

After half time the Clarets doubled their lead immediately when Michael Kightly raided down the right and lifted a cross into the penalty area where Scott Arfield met it with his head and guided the ball past Randolph.

Sean Dyche's side all but secured the win when Arfield's clearing header found the run of Ings and he raced downfield and slotted the ball past Randolph for his second of the game.

The Clarets saw out the game with ease to secure the three points and continue their good start to the season.
