Korey Smith: 'Bristol City making good Championship progress'

Bristol City midfielder Korey Smith insists that his side's battling 1-1 draw with Hull City at the weekend proves that the club are heading in the right direction.

Korey Smith has claimed that the progress at Championship strugglers Bristol City over the past couple of months is clear to see.

The Robins, who held automatic promotion favourites Hull City to a 1-1 draw at the weekend, have lost just two of their last nine league outings.

City currently find themselves one point above the drop zone, but Smith insists that last season's runaway League One winners are now heading in the right direction.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "You can definitely see the progress. We've played one of the best teams in the league who still have Premier League and international players. I think six or seven weeks ago we would have lost that game.

"We've really tightened up defensively. There's been quite a few times this season where we've conceded and then conceded another goal, so it really shows the progress we're making. We kept our heads, stayed solid and we got that point in the end."

City face a huge match at Rotherham United next weekend, before playing host to Blackburn Rovers seven days later.
