Steve Cotterill pleased by "big win" for Bristol City

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill believes that his side's 2-0 win over Peterborough will prove to be important in their push for promotion.

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill has described his side's 2-0 victory over Peterborough United as a "big win" in their push for promotion.

The Robins maintained their five-point lead at the top of the League One table last night as they saw off the Posh at Ashton Gate.

Despite insisting that he wants more from his players, Cotterill believes that they are ready for a busy final few months of the season.

"That was a big win for us and it puts us in a good position," he is quoted as saying by the Bristol Post. "We are focused and we are ready for it and we now need a little extra effort for the next 10 weeks. We cannot just keep doing what we are doing, we need a bit more to make sure we get what we set out to get."

City return to league action on Saturday when they travel to Colchester United.
