Half-Time Report: Bristol City on course for FA Cup fourth round

Bristol City have one foot in the fourth round of the FA Cup having taken a 1-0 lead into the break against Doncaster Rovers.

A Jay Emmanuel-Thomas goal has put Bristol City on course for the fourth round of the FA Cup as they lead Doncaster Rovers 1-0 at half time of their replay this evening.

The hosts almost made a perfect start to the match when they created a chance inside two minutes, but the in-form Matt Smith could only nod wide from Greg Cunningham's cross.

Doncaster had an early chance of their own shortly after as Harry Forrester and Curtis Main combined down the left, only for the latter to be denied by Frank Fielding.

Main was involved again 10 minutes later, this time acting as provider for James Coppinger, but once again Fielding was not overly troubled with the effort.

City had a glorious chance to break the deadlock when Emmanuel-Thomas sent Scott Wagstaff through on goal, only for the midfielder to rush his attempted lob and waste the opportunity.

Mark Little and Aden Flint both then missed good openings in quick succession before the hosts finally took the lead with just under 10 minutes to go until the break.

Flint was again involved as he met a corner with a header that drew a save from Marko Marosi, but the keeper could only parry it to Emmanuel-Thomas, who nodded home the rebound from close range.

Rovers almost levelled things up right on the stroke of half time as Coppinger found space to shoot, but his effort was cleared off the line by Little.
